Bad Numbers Awareness Month

Your CPA’s Reports Might Be a Nest of Snakes

Every year, thousands of businesses suffer from horribly tangled, incomprehensible financials. Their books are a mess, their cash flow is a mystery, and their CPA’s reports are so useless they might as well be ancient scrolls written in a lost language.

But this month, we fight back. Welcome to Bad Numbers Awareness Month.

Accounting Shouldn’t Be Like ‘Derelicte’

Because bad numbers are everywhere. CPAs have spent decades convincing business owners that accounting is supposed to be complex, mysterious, and something only they can decipher.

🚨 It’s not true. 🚨
Accounting is supposed to help you understand your business, not confuse you even more. But let’s be real—if you’ve ever received a financial statement that made you feel dumber than before you read it, you already know the problem.

It’s like getting a tax return that looks like it was designed by Mugatu himself. If your CPA’s reports are the financial equivalent of Derelicte—a bunch of overcomplicated nonsense wrapped in a terrible fashion statement—you might be in trouble.

How Do You Know If You’re Suffering from Bad Numbers?

Take our Bad Numbers Awareness (BNA) Quotient Test:

Do you do anything with your accountant-prepared QuickBooks reports before you put them in the birdcage?

Does your financial statement feel like a ransom note for your own money? When your CPA explains your numbers, do you find yourself nodding while secretly wondering if you need a decoder ring?

Do you spend more time finding Waldo than finding profitability in your P&L?

Has your accountant ever said, “Well, that’s just the way accounting works” when you asked them to explain something?

Has your CPA ever looked at you like you just asked them if Earth revolves around the sun when you question their numbers?

Do your financial statements require an interpretive dance to understand?

If you answered “Yes” to 3 or more, congratulations—you’re a victim of Bad Numbers. You’re basically a male model trying to turn lef – stuck in the same cycle of confusion.
